Personal Year 2027
A personal year says which of the nine chapters 2027 is for you: the tradition reads each one as a different kind of year, and no two people are necessarily in the same one. This page works it out from your birth day and month plus the digits of 2027, folded down to one figure.
Why 2027 counts as a 2
The digits of 2027 add up to 11 — 2+0+2+7 — and in the personal-year convention 11 is not kept as a master number. It comes down to 2, the background everyone shares in 2027. What varies is the day and month added to it, which is why the fields above ask for nothing more.
Some practitioners stop at 11 and write about a universal 11 year with a description of its own; others reduce all the way, as this page does. For your personal figure the argument changes nothing: adding 11 and reducing lands where adding 2 and reducing lands. The schools differ over the year's name, not over your number.
The arithmetic, and a check that takes ten seconds
Two fields, day and month. Reduce the day to a single figure, do the same with the month, add 11 for 2027, then reduce once more. Born on 12 November: 1+2 = 3, then 1+1 = 2, then 3+2+11 = 16, which becomes 7. Born on 30 June: 3+6+11 = 20, which becomes 2.
Here is the check. The digits of 2026 come to 10 and reduce to 1; those of 2027 come to 11 and reduce to 2 — one step apart. Your own figure moves by that same single step: whatever it was for you in 2026, add one for 2027, with 9 rolling back round to 1. If your new sum did not advance one place, one of the two counts is wrong.
You have had this figure before, in 2018 and 2009
Since the figure advances one place every January and there are only nine places, the whole set comes round again every ninth year. The digits of 2018 add up to 11, and so do those of 2009 and 2000. Whatever 2027 gives you, those three years gave you the same figure.
That is the one useful test available here. Read the paragraph the card gives you, then look backwards rather than forwards: does any of it describe your 2018, or your 2009? Someone who recognises nothing in either year knows what weight the same wording deserves for 2027.
